Commercial HVAC Service Technician - Journeyman Level New Castle, DE Full - Time $50,000 - $55,000 Annual Salary with Possible Signing Bonus! Commercial HVAC Service Technician - Journeyman Level performs the following:
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units including electronic and mechanical components Install or repair electrical connections to HVAC components including high voltage (up to 600v AC) and low voltage (both DC and AC). Install or repair HVAC system automation and control components Installation of HVAC units, including electronic and mechanical components Installation of HVAC ductwork including flexible tubing and sheet metal construction Install or repair refrigerant, fuel, water, and condensate lines - with threaded steel pipe, copper soldering/brazing, and PVC piping. Conserve, install and recover CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants Consult with customers regarding problems or issues discovered while servicing their heating/air conditioning system and provide them with a written record of services performed and deficiencies identified. Tasks for maintenance as listed on Maintenance Checklists (available upon request) Various other tasks as assigned Additional Information:
Work may take place in cramped, dirty/dusty, cold, or hot conditions. Safety must be considered in dealing with electricity, heights, flammable fuel lines and various chemical exposures. Proper PPE (personal protective equipment) must be utilized at all appropriate times and includes but is not limited to hard hat, hearing protection, respirator, safety glasses, face shield, gloves, Nomex fire protection suit, and steel toed safety shoes. HVAC mechanics use many special tools and equipment in order to install and maintain the system. Specific equipment includes but is not limited to vacuum pump, recovery machine, electronic leak detector, electric drills, pipe cutters, metal cutters, benders, thermometers, pressure gauges, manometers, acetylene torches, multimeter, megohmmeter, combustion analyzer, etc. Position requires varying amounts of standing, sitting, walking, and driving Position requires varying amounts of bending, turning, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, climbing (ladder/scaffold), repetitive arm motions, reaching up above shoulder. Position is classified as heavy to very heavy work defined as lift/carry and push/pull over 100 lbs occasionally and over 50 lbs frequently. Performing preventive maintenance on equipment Learn to repair and how maintain food service cooking equipment Perform tank and equipment maintenance Identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs Maintain and repair heating and cooling systems Troubleshoot residential and light commercial equipment Discuss account and project milestones Replace or repair defective parts Identifying equipment parts and components that are required to repair and maintain equipment Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install equipment Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures Complete maintenance and repair records updates Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment and grounds Perform maintenance and service repairs on commercial Refrigeration, HVAC, and other equipment within the commercial service environment Monitor the following areas of repair Make service calls to customer homes and provide with expert troubleshooting and repair service to a variety of equipment, particularly heating systems Removing tires for retreading or repair Used in the repair of heating and air conditioning equipment in residential and light commercial buildings Test each system after service/repair Achieve annual and monthly sales goals Recommended Skills Automation Construction Cooking Drilling Operations Electrical Installation Work Maintenance Apply to this job.
